Miami Music Week, an annual gathering, offers a unique opportunity for artists and music industry professionals to network in one city over the span of a week. DJs from across the globe come together to showcase and promote their music. Recognizing the saturation of talent, Femme House sought to organize an event aimed at empowering emerging artists to distinguish themselves in this vast musical landscape. Their focus was on spotlighting often overlooked artists and providing guidance on how to navigate and excel amidst the multitude of talent present.

The Femme House panel featured five remarkable women with extensive careers and notable achievements. Heather Church serves as the VP of Talent and Marketing for Club Glow, one of the largest promotion and venue companies on the East Coast. Julia Fugazy manages Bedouin, a globally acclaimed DJ duo. Ronny Ho heads Dance and Electronic Development with Spotify. Stephanie Karten holds the position of A&R Director at Armada Music, honored as the "label of the year" at the 2024 EDM awards. LP shared her journey of getting started and talked about personal experiences that marked pivotal "switch" moments. She mentions discovering one's "why" and the importance of cultivating a unique sound. Once an artist finds their sound, they attract a team and supporters who are excited to watch and help them grow.

As emerging artists venture into the industry, new producers are advised to concentrate on three key areas: their music, their community, and their vision. A&R Director Stephanie Karten emphasizes the necessity of genuine admiration for the music she encounters, stressing that it must stand out amidst the vast sea of options in today’s saturated market.

The panel discusses how important it is for artists to cultivate their own community and establish a solid fan base. Labels and managers actively seek out artists who already have a dedicated following surrounding their work.

Passion propels artists' visions forward. While the artist's team members are there to support and aid in their growth, ultimately, it is the artist who designs their own path to success.

When navigating the music industry, it is critical for artists to be open to new ideas and to learn to view criticism as constructive feedback rather than personal attacks. Julia Fugazy emphasizes how many artists limit themselves by rigidly adhering to a preconceived vision, hindering their potential for growth. She talks about the value collaboration holds and emphasizes that a supportive team plays a pivotal role in an artist's development. Achieving success alone is extremely challenging.

Each woman on the panel heavily stresses the importance of perseverance. Heather Church quotes the timeless advice to “Just keep swimming.” While it may sound cliché, it embodies the strength needed to thrive in the music industry.

LP discussed her own struggles as an emerging artist and her moments of doubt and wanting to give up. LP Giobbi is a strong example of perseverance. She notes how one day all the artists' work will pay off, everything will fall into place, and they will discover their unique rhythm that resonates with audiences on the dance floor.
