BUNT

Levi Wejk, who goes by the name BUNT, is an up-and-coming German artist who has recently made waves in the EDM industry with his folk-house and melody-driven tracks. He experienced a surge in popularity with the release of "Clouds," a collaborative effort with Nate Traveller. The track made a noteworthy entrance into the prestigious Top 15 of the Billboard Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart, solidifying Levi's presence in the music scene. Since then, Levi has accomplished some impressive feats, including dropping a new EP, going on tour, being named one of the mint artists to watch for 2024, and being featured on a Spotify billboard in Times Square, New York City.

This boy radiates golden retriever energy, and his infectious smile instantly uplifts spirits. According to his Instagram, he revealed that the title of his latest EP, "Levi Don't Do It," was inspired by a phrase he frequently encountered over the past few years. Despite doubts from others, he continued to pursue his dreams and achieve them, imparting a message to his fans to "never stop believing in yourself and take it easy." Levi's musical purpose is undeniably to inspire and bring smiles to people's faces, and he is succeeding beyond measure. I was particularly inspired by his new music for the way it creates such an emotional response, leaving you feeling empowered and grateful for yourself, the things, and the people around you.

On January 25th, in celebration of his new EP and in collaboration with Project 91, BUNT hosted a free pop-up show in the iconic Astor Place Hairstylists barber shop. Of course, like many of his other shows, he performed a "Boiler Room" style set, creating a bumping and energetic atmosphere. These vibes were so high, and in addition to his tracks, he was mixing in other sub-genres including techno.

I first discovered BUNT when he released his EP, and he has most definitely been on my daily rotation since. Considering the cities he was touring for the Cloud Tour Part II, I never anticipated the opportunity to see him live anytime soon, making this pop-up show particularly exciting! I arrived an hour early; the atmosphere buzzed with eagerness, and the line quickly swelled to over 1000 people. The only minor critique was that the overhead lights were on throughout the show, which, while not significantly dampening the vibe, could have potentially enhanced the overall atmosphere if they were off.

The night took an unexpected turn when the police intervened, abruptly ending the event just 30 minutes into the first set. Despite the disappointment of the cut-short show, the fleeting moments were filled with BUNT's infectious energy, leaving an indelible mark on those fortunate enough to attend. However, he did invite the public via Instagram story to his after-party at the Memory Motel, which filled to capacity shortly after everyone was asked to leave Astor Place Hairstylists.

Explore BUNT's Instagram or visit his website to find out if he's making a stop in your city for the Cloud Tour Part II. If he is, missing the chance to join him would be a crazy decision you would regret!
